School of Seven Bells Alphinisms

Alphinisms by School of Seven Bells could not be coming out at a better time of the year. Their debut album is a mix of dreamy, psychedelic electronic pop that matches the chilly nights that are close upon us.

The trio is made up of Benjamin Curtis, formerly of Secret Machines and Claudia and Alejandra Deheza of On!Air!Library! Their sound is hard to pin down, if you took the electronic beats of Bjork and matched it up with the voice of Portishead's Beth Gibbons you would be pretty close.

This debut album is stunning, there literally is not a bad track on the album. "Connjur," "Iamundernodisguise," "Half Asleep" and "Chain" are all stand out tracks. The songs all have excellent production, but the real stars of the songs are the Alejandrea and Claudia Deheza. Their voices are soaked in reverb on many tracks and give them a spooky psychedelic quality to the songs. If you are a fan of electronic music, then this is definitely and album you need to pick up. I can see these guys becoming big names on the musical landscape and you will start hearing them everywhere.
