Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes are a Seattle band with a sound similar to My Morning Jacket. Their sound is a little less rock n' roll than MMJ, but, just as good. They will be playing SXSW in March. And they will also be playing the Opolis, in Norman, OK, on March 16.

Vedder Wins Golden Globe

Eddie Vedder took home a Golden Globe for "Best Original Song" last night for his song "Guaranteed."  I'm not as big a fan of that song as I am of "Hard Sun."  But, it's still good.

Leave Tony Romo Alone!

The Cowboys play the New York Football Giants this given Sunday. Let's hope Tony can get his act together and throw some TD's to El Dorado Owens and Terry Glenn. Let's also hope that the Curse of Jessica Simpson will not play any part in this weekends game.

Live Nation

Live Nation has now decided it's going to branch out to selling concert tickets. The have already branched out into merchandising and touring. I'm hoping this means that Ticketbastard will have some competition and lower their "service" fees.

Headlights

I've been listening to this song all day long. At first listen “Cherry Tulips” reminds me of 60’s style pop of Camera Obscura, or possibly Belle and Sebastian. It’s instantly accessible, melodic and perky. Even though it’s winter, I can see listening to this one out on the back patio drinking some coldies. I like it the first listen, really liked it the second listen and loved it by the third. But, I’m a sucker for that type of musical sound.

Killer, Thriller--Tonight!

Until today, I thought that Ian Brown would be the only one that could do justice to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." However, thanks to Stereogum, my opinion has been changed. The great Ben Gibbard, from Deathcab For Cutie and the Postal Service, serves up this live version of the Jacko classic.

Of course it's done up Gibbard style, slow and slightly melancholy. But, it's ridiculous how good it is.
