I Said Hi My Name Is Mos

On my daily post I do for DC9 I mentioned the Black Keys are doing a hip-hop album. It's kinda surprising, but, kinda not. They seem like a band hip-hop guys would be into instead of Radiohead and Coldplay... which a lot of them are.

Anyhoo, as you can see in the above vidie Mos Def is taking part in the project and it makes me all kinds of giddy. I've been a fan of Mos for a while and I dig the shiz he does on the first track. I also find it amusing when he tells Dan Auerbach he's been a big fan of their for a while and Dan says "Since college?" Funny shit, Dan.

The collabo (that's what the kids call it, right?), Blakroc will be out drop November 27.

The Black Keys Tonight!

So it's going to be an exciting weekend in The D.  Tonight I'll be covering the greatness of The Black Keys for DC9 at Night.  And tomorrow I'll be covering the Neko Case show tomorrow night for them as well.  Check out this post later this weekend and I'll throw up and edit with a link to the "Last Night Review" of The Black Keys show.

*EDIT* You can go here and read my "Last Night" review for The Black Keys.

The Black Keys Cover Captain Beefheart

I'm going to get real honest with you people, can you handle it? I don't think I've ever heard any tunes by Captain Beefheart. However, I know a lot of people like him/them, so, I guess I'm missing out.

However, if there songs sound anything like The Black Keys versions of "I'm Glad" then I really am missing out. (Stereogum)
