Zooey Is The Fabric of My Life

I didn't realize that the cotton industry was putting on such a big push to rework their classic jingle.  You know, the "Fabric of Our Lives" jingle?  Classic.  I still find myself singing that jingle from time to time.  Mostly because I'm a dork, but, also because it's easy to get stuck in your head and has such a great vocal melody.

Zooey Deschanel has recorded her version for a new commercial.  Just like with She & Him, she has such a sweet, twangy voice.  AND she has also recorded an extended version for a free download, who knew?!

New M. Ward

Today I bring you the first single off "Never Had Nobody Like You."  It's Mr. Ward plugged in and slightly rocked up.  Oh, and did I mention it features his She & Him partner Zooey Dechanel singin' a little back up?

His new album comes out February 15 and I can't wait.

Awkward

It's really cool to see artists I like get involved with another artist and jump into a mutual admiration society.  If you've read BFD for anytime at all you'd know I'm a big fan of She & Him.  What you may not know is I've been a big Beach Boys fan for most of my life.

That being said, this "Artist on Artist" interview with Zooey Deschanel and Brian Wilson is really awkward at times.  Zooey isn't so awkward, it's the wonderful, reclusive weirdness of Brian Wilson.  He just really seems like he would rather be anywhere but there at that particular time.  I do like the end of the interview when he tells her "she's a very pretty girl."  What that has to do with her music is beyond me.

Enjoy.
