Allow me to introduce you to Washington D.C.'s Georgie James. They make some great little rock tunes. I can't get "Need Your Needs", off their album Places, out of my head. It's such a great song. It reminds me of early 80's rock but without the guilty pleasure quality.

Jenny Lewis Recording New Album

The lovely Jenny Lewis is getting ready to record a new album. She's finished her work with Rilo Kiley for now. She also has a pack of guests lined up including Chris Robinson and Zooey Deschanel (who seems to be everywhere lately).

Big Dipper

I was turned onto these guys recently by an aquaintance of mine. And, as it seems, I can't get the song out of my head. Big Dipper broke up in 1992, but, are staging a come back of sorts. I dare you to get it out of your head after listening to it.

Bonnaroo Line Up Announced

I had heard a few weeks ago that something special was going to go down with Pearl Jam. But, I was actually hoping it would be a tour of the south/southwest since they neglected all of us on their last tour supporting Pearl Jam. But, news comes today the seminal "grunge" band will be headlining Bonnaroo this year. Along with PJ will be Metallica, MIA, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Drive-by Truckers, Jack Johnson, Kanye West and many more.

Since I'm still a little sensitive about Pearl Jam not playing anywhere near me, here's a treat.

Obama Backing

The world's second greatest rapper, sorry but Jay is no. 1, has officially backed Barack Obama for the White House via a Myspace bulletin. You can read the article here. Pearl Jam have also pledged their support for the candidate in a song called "Rock Around Barack".
