Holy Ghost! | LCD Soundsystem | Coming To The D

It's amazing it's taken this long for Dallas to bring our favorite Brooklyn disco-redux-hipsters to town, but, alas the boys over at the Palladium have done it. Holy Ghost! are coming to town with label mates LCD Soundsystem. They've even remixed LCDSS to boot!

Under The Cover

If you checked out the Holy Ghost! remix-tape we posted about last week then you no doubt heard HG!'s fantastical remix of Van She's cover of Blue Oyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) The Reaper."

This is an electo-fied updating of the BOC classic, sans cowbell.

The Father, The Son And The Holy Ghost Mixtape

It's really odd in this day and age of music blog celebrity how a duo can make such a huge name for themselves by releasing one song. This is pretty much what has happened to NYC's Holy Ghost! Although now, they have released a second single (which we told you about a while back) and are prepping an album on top of their remix work.

Anyhoo... they duo and their label, DFA Records, have release an old skool type two-sided mixtape. You can get it here, oh yeah, and it's worth it... it will get your Friday afternoon/night started off the right way.

Early Friday Party Starter

I saw this video a while back and just about instantly liked the song, even though it's very disco-ey. Brooklyn's Holy Ghost! have as they have said, something that is retro, yet relevant. The hook is extremely catchy and will serve you well as a part of your party time, night time city driving soundtrack.

Fun fact: the burly, bearded guy in the video is the same guy (who did the same thing) in New Order's "Confusion" video.

You can get the track, along with several remixes, here.
