Mash-Up Monday

On days like today I need to hear something about how great it is to be alive and out in the sunshine and all that jazz.  And I can't think of a better way to bring me out of my case of the Monday's better than Mr. Louis Armstrong.

Yep, seems that if you combine the music from Radiohead with the vocal of Louis you still get a pretty damn good song.

Jaydiohead?

I'm going to venture a guess that Jay's Black Album is going to be mashed-up or remixed until those Left Behind movies come true.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Jaydiohead produced by DJ Minty Fresh Beats.  And, as you may be able to infer from the title Jay is mashed up with Radiohead.  Yep, Mr. DJ Minty Fresh Beats used the acapella vocals from Mr. Hova and mostly instrumental tracks from OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows.  The tracks have a darker and more urgent tone than most of Jay's tracks or even the mash ups I've heard.  I'm diggin' "Wrong Prayer" in particular.

You can download, for free, the entire CD here.

Under Cover

Those crazy dudes in Radiohead, always doing something I wouldn't expect them to do.  This time they covered the U2 classic "Sunday Bloody Sunday."  The band replaced the originals urgency for a more dour, slowed down version.

Everytime I hear or think about "Sunday Bloody Sunday" I'm reminded of a girl I grew up with.  She thought the song was "Someday, Bloody Someday."  I've always found her mis-hearing of it to be quite funny.  But, she was always a funny girl.

Musical Obsession

Thanks to a friend of mine I can't get this song out of my head.  I've listened to "House of Cards" about a hundred times today.  I'm not a huge Radiohead fan, but, I did Thom Yorke and his wonky eye. Oh, and some of his bands tunes as well. I'm not sure if it's the time of year or something else, but, today this song seems to very fitting.

Radiohead Dallas Reviews

Last night was one of those nights where I had to keep myself occupied because I was bummed out. No, not because I watch the Rangers lose again, but because I missed out on Radiohead. But, from the DC9 review it was super awesome. But, like most Guide Live reviews, they made it out to seem ho-hum. However, I doubt it was anything but purely awesome.

Radiohead Loves A Good Contest

Thom Yorke, his wonky eye and Radiohead have announced a remix contest for their next single "Nude." You can get either the vocals, drums, bass, geetar etc. for your remix. Yeeahh, but, here's the rub: each element of the song will cost you $.99. Not astronomical, but, still Thomas! Each remix can be uploaded to Radioheadremix.com. Then Facebookers and Myspacers will vote on who has the dopest remix, y'all!

I'm not sure any of the remixes will feature Too $hort. But, we can always hope. (Rock & Roll Daily)
