NIN/JA Tour Sampler

Trent Reznor is a master marketer for the new millennium.  He did all the free flash drive stuff a few years ago, gave away albums and continues to do so.  For the upcoming tour with Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper he has put up this tour sampler for free.

Of course you have to fill something out, but, it's prolly worth it because he's always giving away free shit.

Track listing:

Jane's Addiction - Chip Away

Nine Inch Nails - Not So Pretty Now

Street Sweeper - Clap For The Killer

Jane's Addiction - Whores

Nine Inch Nails - Non-Entity

Street Sweeper - The Oath

Classic Jane's Addiction and Ice-T

A few months ago I caught a program on VH1 Classic about Soul music from the 60s and 70s.  It featured a song I had up to that point never heard.  It's the Sly and The Family Stone classic jam "Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey."  Yeah, I know.

Well, I told my wife about it and she was all 'yeah, I saw Ice-T sing it with Jane's Addiction at the first Lollapalooza.'  Well, now you can see a version of it in living color.  Jamie Foxx not included.

Jane's Addiction Video

Granted, the video is a little shaky from the rocking out of whomever recorded it. Oh, and you get to see Eric Avery pull a anti-Soul Coughing and walk around in circles. (Stereogum)

Jane's Addiction To Recieve God-Like Genius Award

Jane's Heroin Addiction will be the recipients of the 2008 God-Like Genius Award from the NME. The British music publication is holding it's award ceromony in LA this year for some reason.

But, the best part of the whole deal is that all 4 original members will get back together to perform for the show. This is kind of a coup since Eric Avery has never taken part in the reunion tours or album.

You may be asking why I have a picture of Primal Scream up, right? Well, I wanted you to see what the statuette looks like. And, they are past winners of the award along with my man Ian Brown. (Yahoo)
