Kanye Gets All Dramatical

Despite being an overall jerk and supreme narcissist most of the time, I have a lot of respect for the art he makes. He has gone against the grain in hip-hop and done things the way he wants to do them.

We Were Once A Fairytale is actually a good little short movie. Sure, 'Ye plays drunk very badly, but, it's actually pretty good.

Mash-Up Monday

It's been a while since I've heard anything exciting from Modest Mouse, but, this one is a new-oldie.  It combines the beat from Kanye West with the Modest Mousers for some interesting listening.

Mash-Up Monday

This weekend I dove head first into a the Mysplice III: Team9 vs. Stereogum album. There was one track in particular that left me very impressed, and it was by an artist which I'm not particularly fond of: Kanye West.

The production on "Lockdown Shelter" is magnificent. The songs puts Ye's "Love Lockdown" with The Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter." I was surprised how well "Gimme Shelter" went with Ye's song. One very small detail that I thought was a touch of genius was the pitch correction on Jagger's voice. It was such a small but vital touch that really cemented the song for me.

Stop! Banger Time!

Well, well, well...it looks as though the good people over at The Mixtape Podcast have done it again on the mash-up front.  This is definitely one of the betterest mash-up's I've heard in quite a while.  It's Kanye's "Touch The Sky" mashed with MGMT's "Electic Feel."  This one is product of Mighty Mi and Steve1der.

And let me tell you something, it's a banger.  If you're going to listen to this one set your speakers on stun and hit play.

Douchbaggery

At this point most people who enjoy music know that Kanye West has a super-sized ego. Well, today we find out that he also has a short fuse. He attacked some paparazzi at LAX airport for taking pictures of him and videotaping him.

Granted, being super famous has it's perks like money and girls. It also has it's drawbacks like constantly being photographed or video taped everywhere you go. But, that's the price of fame and either you take it or you act like the King of The Douchebags and attack the paps and destroy their equipment. I'm sure it is annoying always wading through a sea of paparazzi...but, again, that's the price you pay. And, most of the time it is in public and the paps have as much right to be there as you do and you as an artist are helpless to stop them.

But, do you really need to destroy their equipment when they are yards away from you and not up in your grill? Anyhoo, you can check out the video here at TMZ.

New Jay-Z, Jay Hova, Jigga Song

Last week I hipped you to the newest of the new for Jay-Z; his new joint "Jockin' Jay-Z." But, today, thanks to Nah Right, you can hear the entirety of "Jockin' Jay-Z," which was produced by super-ego Kanye West.

When I saw the video I thought it was the diggy-dope shiz. Now that I hear the song in it's entirety it doesn't sound that great. But, I will let you decide. (Nah Right)

Jigga Debuts New Joint w/Kanye

Apparently the beef Jay-Z had with Noel Gallagher isn't over yet. Since Noel said he didn't think a rapper should've headlined the Glastonbury Festial Jay has been kinda pissed. To open his headlining spot at Glastonbury Jay did a very bad version of "Wonderwall." Now he's dissin' Oasis in a new track that is supposedly going to be on Blueprint 3. (Rock & Roll Daily)

Here's the vidie of the new track.
