Save The Last Dance For The ER

The Raveonettes new song "Last Dance" is possibly the sweetest song about someone overdosing ever. If you were not really paying attention you would think it's a really sweet love song (and it kinda is). But, it's a promising start to their new album.

Here the new cover for The Raveonettes album, In And Out Of Control, and their first single "Suicide." Despite the ominous title it's actually quite upbeat... has a very 1960's pop feel to it. The beginning actually reminds me of "Bustin' Surfboards" by The Tornadoes.

Raveonettes Remix Treatment

Today is a remix kind of a day.  The Raveonettes are offering a free remix EP for a few songs from their delicious new album Lust Lust Lust.  I'm a big fan of the regular version of "Dead Sound" and "Aly, Walk With Me."  The "Lust" and "Dead Sound" remixes are not bad, but I really like the downbeat treatment of "Aly, Walk With Me."  It keeps the same feeling as the original but adds a little some'in, some'in.  I love the blips and beeps reminicent of early 90's house music verging on Nitzer Ebb aggression.  

The EP is free and the first in a series of three.  You can get the first one here.
