I think I got this record in the wrong season of the year... it's more of a Fall record for me than when I wrote about it back in the summer. Bird Automatic's EP Not Morning People has been on repeat on the ol' iPod here recently.

The vocals, vibe and melodies of the Aussie band get me where it counts. "About The Money" has been rolling around in my head when I'm not listening to the album, and when I do listen to it I find myself listening to it twiced.

If you love Britpop inspired music then you really need to check these guys out.

I've listened to this song a lot this weekend and throughout this very short week.  "Kiss Me Again" by Jessica Lea Mayfield is sweet and heartfelt.  The complete apathy in her lyrics about the whomever she's talking to is interesting.  With lyrics like "You can touch me if you wanna I don't care" wouldn't really set my pants on fire either.  But, hey...free pass!

Yeah, so, I've been listening to "Down Boy" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs quite a bit the last two weeks.  I'm not sure what it is about the song that gets me in the gut.  I like the loud/quiet part of the song, and I like thinking Karen O is telling me what to do.  And, it could also be about the energy of the loud parts.  But, overall, I think it's just the rockin' vibe the whole things gives out.  To me, it's the YYY's at their best.
