Q-Tip Tonight!

Tonight is the Q-Tip show at the House of Snooze and I can't wait! I never got to see A Tribe Called Quest back in the day or on their recent reunion...so, this is the next best thing. Besides, e'rybody know Tip's the main man anyway.

Here is his newest vidie off The Renaissance, called "Renaissance Rap." Nice. It's like Q-Tip's version of the Bourne series. I'll be covering the show for DC9 and I'll post a link to the "Last Night Review" tomorrow once it's posted.

*EDIT* Here is the link to the "Last Night Review" for the show on DC9.

One thing I forgot to write in my review was the greatness/awkwardness of "Sucka Nigga." That's one of my favorite tunes off of Midnight Marauders, but, it was super awkward to be a Caucasian singing it. It was one of those "should I?" moments. So, I just went with it. It's not everyday Q-Tip is 10 feet in front of me, ya know?

You Like Music, Right?

In their never ending quest to find out what people think of the current musical landscape; DC9 at Night has asked the musical geniuses at Mockingbird Station what they think about "Golden Age" by TV on The Radio. Why? Because they are playing the Lakewood tonight.

Not a knock on DC9, I just think it's funny they were at Mockingbird Station...cause the yuppies go there.

Uh Huh Her Tonight

Tonight I will get to see Uh Huh Her, then really late tonight after the show I'll be writing the "Last Night Review" for DC9 at Night.

I'm not sure why I'm only now posting the video for their song "Not A Love Song." I mean, it has fn unicorns in it! I'm pretty excited about the show. It will be interesting to see how their brand of electronica infused pop/rock will come off live. Plus, I can't wait to check out Camila Grey and Leisha Haily in person. Oh, and The Fashion is opening up for them.

Neko Case Tonight

Tonight Neko Case is going to be at the Granada and I'll be there covering it for DC9 at Night.  I'm hoping it's going to be a great show!  Last nights Black Keys show was alright.  The band was tight, but, the crowd completely ruined it for me.

*EDIT* You can check out my "Last Night" review here.  Oh, and here's a pic a snuck in with my camera phone.  Yeah, I know--excellent quality, right?

The Black Keys Tonight!

So it's going to be an exciting weekend in The D.  Tonight I'll be covering the greatness of The Black Keys for DC9 at Night.  And tomorrow I'll be covering the Neko Case show tomorrow night for them as well.  Check out this post later this weekend and I'll throw up and edit with a link to the "Last Night Review" of The Black Keys show.

*EDIT* You can go here and read my "Last Night" review for The Black Keys.

The RZA...The GZA...

The Wu is set to invade the greater Dallas area tonight. Well, not the whole Wu, but, at least it's the mastermind behind the Wu. RZA will be playing the Palladium Ballroom as his alter ego Bobby Digital...a definite must see.

In related Wu news GZA/Genius is going to be in town performing his classic Liquid Swords in it's entirety. I'm sure the guys at Gorilla vs. Bear are amped about that one. (Ultra8021)

Foxboro Hot Tubs Tonight at The Loft

Tonight the Foxboro Hot Tubs, or the Green Day side-project, will be playing at The Loft in Dallas.

Doors at 8PM, $20 (cash only) at the door, tickets only available at the door and they're limited to two per person. I guess there is major demand for these tickets?
