The other day I was watching actual music videos (remember those?) on television and I came across "Just a Boy" by Angus and Julia Stone. The video wasn't anything exceptional, but, I was captured by the song. Angus has a high voice, reminds me of Travis Hopper a little bit, and I was drawn to the sweet sentiment of the song. Since then I haven't been able to shake this song and it's folky charm.
Every time I listen to this EP it overwhelmingly reminds me of Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains. Not the sonic assault that Chains had, but, the tenor of the songs and subject matter. The music for "Just a Boy" reminds me a lot of "Nutshell" by AIC.
