I wasn't a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys when they came out...and I'm still not. However, I do really dig Alex Turner's side band The Last Shadow Puppets. I saw a video for them a while back and thought they were pretty good. I efforted to find out more about them but to no avail.
Then I saw the video for "Standing Next To Me" off of their debut album Age of the Understatement. As soon as I heard that song I was hooked again. Their sound is like an upbeat version of The Clientele. Still a mod-ish, chamber pop sound, but more upbeat. I really, really like "Standing Next To Me" and I think you will too.
